Market is up on relatively low volume. The dismal jobs report all but guarantees a bailout for the auto makers. Lawmakers realize that consumers will not buy cars from bankrupt auto companies.

So, I think the bailout is already priced into the rally.

The economic crisis is still there. More companies will go belly up. More jobs will be lost. We should continue to see market volatility in the next few months, until there are concrete signs that the economy is improving.

I bought XLF (Financial Sector SPDR) yesterday at $13.95 hoping to sell it back for $15 to $16 in the next few days. I thought I got at a bargain, but things turned sour. The market is still down today because of more bad economic news. XLF closed at $13.32.
